  34. INSTALLATION:
  35.  
  36. To install UNzip the file BU.ZIP. We recommend that you copy it to its own
  37. directory (eg BES) before extracting. Run BU.exe to run the BatterUp program.
  38. BatterUP will configure itself to your system the first time it is run.  Enter
  39. your team name(s) and players before adding any game stats.

  51. OPERATION:
  52.  
  53. BatterUp works with 3 data lists, one for teams , players and games. First add
  54. a team then its players and finally each game for that team. It stores each
  55. players individual stats for each game. This permits one to view stats made up
  56. from different game sets , first X games, last X games, between certain dates,
  57. all tournament or regular season games, etc. Define system and game selection
  58. parameters from SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and GAME SELECTION procedures located in
  59. the F5-TOOLS menu.

  61. The program uses several function keys listed a the bottom of the screen. Use
  62. F1-HELP to give instructions and provide data-list information during data
  63. entry. Up and Down Arrow and PgUP/PgDN keys move a highlighted cursor through
  64. data and menu lists. ESC will exit the program and cancel most requests.
  65.  
  66. Some print operations will use form (.FRM) files. One can create their own form
  67. files with any text editor. One is supplied (WEDIT) which can be called form
  68. the DOS prompt or from the F5-TOOLS menu within the program. These files use a
  69. simple merge process substituting data into their variable names giving the
  70. user a very flexible way of creating thier own custom reports and output. Some
  71. examples of typical form files have been supplied. Examine the DBF data files
  72. to obtain proper variable names for merge substituting into the form files.
  73. Printer commands can also be added and are listed under PRINTER DEFINITIONS
  74. procedure in the F5-TOOLS menu.
